A Sociolinguistics Study on Gender in Egyptian Arabic Proverbs

This study discusses gender in Egyptian Arabic proverbs from a sociolinguistic point of view to see the correlation between language and socio-cultural society. The research method used this is combination intralingual, extra lingual, hermeneutic, correlational methods. Based on results analysis, it known that disclosure uses lingual units form words phrases. As for meaning, expression literal or actual meaning figurative non-true meaning. gap appears relationship gaps, roles family, construction stereotypes women as inferior dependent figures. reflected proverb accordance with reality high level inequality Egypt. reveals there
